The History of NoSo
Originally called NoSo Knit, Sue Esser founded the event in 1997 with Rae Creedle and Tere Salmons. These enterprising ladies organized the event through 2012. From 2013-2017, a committee of dedicated volunteers consisting of Diana, Jaime, Jess, Patsy, Paula, and Whitney took the helm. In 2018, a new team started organizing the event. Now, a new generation of planning volunteers have taken on the work to bring the event to you!
"NoSo" is short for "north" and "south" - a tribute to the founders who lived apart from each other and travelled from northern and southern Virginia to meet in the middle to create together. Now, the event has grown in to one dedicated to donating warm knits to local charities in Virginia, giving fiber lovers ways to gather, give back, and enjoy a mini fiber-fest!
